New Oak Sleepers – These are almost totally regular blocks of wood of the size described below, but about 10% of them have lightly chamfered edges; as if a corner had been planed off to make it look more natural. This is because some of these are machined from the edge of a large block of timber, where the natural sides and curvature of the tree itself can be seen.  Sleepers New: 7ft 10 " long by 8" wide and 4" thick (2.4m/2400mm x 200mm x 100mm) Tanalised Pine Sleepers – These represent the best weight to durability ratio of all our sleepers. Made of a simple lightweight pine, then tanalised to preserve them against rot and decay. These can be used in wet or dry environments and are very lightweight and extremely easy to handle.
